Recently, Ministry of Education announced the list of “2012 Ph.D. Candidate New Talent Award”, granting the honor to 699 Ph.D. candidates in domestic universities. 25 Ph.D. candidates at Zhejiang University were enrolled.
In 2010, Ministry of Education decided to establish “Ph.D. Candidate New Talent Award” to fund outstanding Ph.D. candidates excellent and showing innovation in research. The funding totals 20 million yuan. To this end, Ministry of Education issued “Screening Standards for Ph.D. Candidate New Talent Award”. According to the Standards, the award will grant 30 thousand yuan for each for about 700 Ph.D. candidates. The funding will be mainly used to support them to participate in high-level international and domestic academic exchanges.
