Strengthening cooperation with Indonesia's top university


On March 1, a delegation from the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology (Fakultas Ilmu dan Teknologi Kebumian, FITB) of the Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) visited the Ocean College of Zhejiang University, furthering cooperation in summer school and scientific research.

“ZJU gives prominence to its role and function in ‘Belt and Road’ development. The Ocean College is working to foster cooperation with universities along the Belt and Road. We regard ITB as one of our most important partners,” said Professor CHEN Ying, founding dean of Ocean College, while extending a warm welcome to the ITB delegation.

“Based on our existing cooperation, we are more than happy to enhance our relationship through all-round collaboration,” Chen added.

“We will continue the summer school and start a fresh joint research program, too,” said FITB dean Benyamin Sapiie, who introduced the summer school in details.

The two sides exchanged in-depth views on faculty and student exchange, summer school and joint research.

The Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) is a state, coeducational research university located in Bandung, Indonesia. Established in 1920, ITB is the oldest technology-oriented university in Indonesia. ITB has been credited as one of the most prestigious universities in Indonesia. The first president of the Republic of Indonesia and the third president of Indonesia both graduated from ITB.
