Professor JIA Chengzao receives prestigious AAPG Award

At ACE2019 in San Antonio, Texas, USA, the Annual Convention and Exhibition of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Prof. JIA Chengzao with the School of Earth Sciences was awarded the prestigious Norman H. Foster Outstanding Explorer Award.

The Norman H. Foster Outstanding Explorer Award is given in recognition of distinguished and outstanding achievements in exploration of petroleum or mineral resources by members of AAPG who have shown a consistent pattern of exploratory success, with an emphasis on recent discovery.

Prof. JIA Chengzao received this award in recognition of his great contributions to significant petroleum discoveries, as a visionary leader embarking on lithostratigraphic reservoir exploration in China, and for his significant contributions to the discovery of the giant Kela-2 gas field in the foreland fold and thrust belts of the northern Tarim Basin.
