General Alumni Association

On September 15, 1998, the new Zhejiang University was established on the basis of the amalgamation of four former individual universities, namely, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. Accordingly, the alumni of the former four universities, who had been making great contributions to the construction and development of their Alma Maters with valuable advice, generous donations and social contacts in the past years, have now become the alumni of the new Zhejiang University. The University leadership and its alumni in various places in China and abroad showed great care for and put a lot of effort into the establishment of the General Alumni Association. With their joint efforts, the Founding Ceremony of the Association as well as the first session of the congress was held on January 16, 2000. The representatives at the ceremony ratified the constitution of the General Alumni Association and elected its leadership. And now branches of the association or founding offices can be found not only in all the cities in Zhejiang and all provinces in China, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, but also in foreign countries like the United States (New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, Houston), Canada, Australia, Romania, Holland, Finland, Japan, Singapore and Indonesia. The Office of the General Alumni Association of Zhejiang University, sharing the office with the Liaison Office of Zhejiang University Alumni, sees to the day-to-day affairs of the Association.
