Press Conference of the 110th Anniversary of Zhejiang University

In the afternoon of May 10, 2007, a press conference of the 110th Anniversary of Zhejiang University was held by the News Office of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government, at the Multifunctional Hall of Provincial People's Great Hall, and dozens media attended the event.

Deputy President Mingjiang Ni introduced achievements the university has made recent years in aspects of talent training, scientific research, social service, and etc. Vice Chancellor Yuzhi Wang depicted agenda of the 110th anniversary celebration activities.

May 21 is the day of the 110 Anniversary of Zhejiang University. According to the news, activities for that day will mainly included Founding Ceremony of Zhejiang University Innovation Institute, International (ZII), and a Keynote Report on Innovation and Application Breakthrough,which two Nobel Prize Laureates and a group of well-known professors from Stanford University will attend. Over 80 multinational enterprisers and home enterprises will attend Cooperation Summit on University-Industry Strategy Alliance. In the evening, there will be a large scale performance for the 110 Anniversary Celebration of Zhejiang University. In that day, there will be a donation ceremony of Couple Zhu Min and Yuqing Xu, an unveiling ceremony of Minwei Meng Building, and a series of donation activities. And the 110th Annual Presidents Meeting of Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) will be held on May 28, which many university presidents all over the world will attend. The anniversary activity will last for one year.
