Alumni Min Zhu Donated 10 Million US Dollars to Establish Zhejiang University Innovation Institute, International (ZII)

On the occasion of the 110th Anniversary Celebration of Zhejiang University, alumni Min Zhu and his wife donated 10 million US dollars to establish Zhejiang University Innovation Institute, International (ZII). Alumni Min Zhu is a venture partner of New Enterprise Associates (NEA) that is one of the world's leading venture capital firms focused on information technology and healthcare investments. In the afternoon of May 21, the ceremony of donation and founding of ZII has been held at Zhejiang University. Chancellor Xi Zhang and President Wei Yang both attended the ceremony and received the donations on behalf of Zhejiang University. Meanwhile they issued a certification of contribution to Min Zhu couple. From now on, alumni Min Zhu acts as a dean of the ZII.

At present, the ZII has engaged Nobel laureate Arno Penzias, scientist of Bell Laboratories, USA, and William Miller, CEO of SRI International and former president of Stanford University, both as honor deans of ZII. And 20 professors from Stanford University including the two Nobel laureates, participated in related cooperation and exchange activities at Zhejiang University.
