Dr. William Mong Man Wai Was Appointed as an Honorary Professor of Zhejiang University

In the morning of May 21, 2007, Dr. William Mong Man Wai, the chairman of Shun Hing Group, Hong Kong, was appointed as an honorary professor of Zhejiang University, and he donated 10 million RMB on behalf of Shun Hing Education and Charity Foundation of Hong Kong, to construct a building at Zijingang Campus, which is in the name of the benefactor. Dr. William Mong Man Wai couple, Weiwen Zhang, vice-chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Political Consultative Conference, University Chancellor Xi Zhang, President Wei Yang and Junsheng Zhang, chairman of Development Committee of Zhejiang University, attended the unveiling ceremony of the building.

Dr. William Mong Man Wai is a patriotic enterpriser, founded Shun Hing Group, and Shun Hing Education and Charity Foundation in 1953 and 1984, respectively, and has donated over half bllion Hongkong Dollars to support education development so far.

At the ceremony, Chancellor Xi Zhang presented the university remembrances to him, and President Wei Yang issued a certificate of honorary professor and a badge to him while he accepted the donation on behalf of Zhejiang University.

The ceremony was presided by Deputy Mingjiang Ni, and a number of related faculty members and students attended the event.
