Zhejiang University Is Ranked the First Place among Domestic Universities in Term of the Numbers of Academic Papers in 2006

On June 5, 2007, a list of numbers of academic papers for top 100 universities in 2006 was released by the Chinese Science Abstracts (Chinese Edition), sponsored by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology. Zhejiang University is at its first place with 1,506 items while Tsinghua University second with 1,247 and Huazhong University of Science & Technology third with 1038.

Chinese Science Abstracts (CSAE) is the only one comprehensive technology retrieval journals in China. According to reports, the Abstracts cited 414 kinds of technological core selected journals with a total of 42,243 items in 2006, and covers five disciplines, such as natural sciences, medicine, agriculture, engineering and technology, and humanities and social sciences. CSAE issued a list of top 100 universities in term of their numbers of papers cited in 2006. Zhejiang University, Tsinghua University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology are the top three universities.
