Professor John S. Tse Firstly Appointed as Bao Yugang Lecture Professor of Zhejiang University

On November 13, 2007, Professor John S. Tse with Univeristy of Saskatchewan, Canada, an internationally well-known scientist in computational material science, was appointed as Bao Yugang Lecture Professor of Zhejiang University. He will be improving international exchange and development in material science for Zhejiang University, by means of lecturing, teaching courses, research collaborating and planning academic subjects, within his term of three years. Bao Yugang Lecture Professorship is a new program of introducing internationally famous scholars for Zhejiang University, after Kuang-piu and Yongqian Scholar Programs. There are five scholars firstly elected as Bao Yugang Lecture Professors.

Professor John S. Tse was born in Hong Kong, 1953, and received a PhD in Chemistry from Western Ontario University, Canada, 1980. He is a professor with Department of Physics and Engineering Physics, University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and the Canada Research Chair in Materials Science. After the appointment ceremony, Professor John S. Tse gave a lecture entitled Computational Material Science, to students and faculty members of Zhejiang University.
