Each year the university enrolls international students to pursue degrees or take short-term courses. In 2011, over 2,706 international students from  all over the world were in registrations for various degree and nono-degree programs offered by the university. The university has special dormitory buildings for overseas students on its different campuses, and a Center of International Services has been set up to provide excellent services for international students.

Zhejiang University provides students with scholarships to lessen their financial burden of university education and to support superior students who might otherwise forgo higher education because of financial constrains. Additionally, both undergraduate and graduate students are provided with accommodations in students dormitories on campus.
