ZJU shortlisted for THE's International Strategy of the Year

2019-02-22

ZJU has been shortlisted in the International Strategy of the Year category in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2019.

The THE Awards Asia celebrate and publicize excellence in five key areas of university activity, namely Leadership and Management Team, International Strategy, Teaching and Learning Strategy, Outstanding Support for Students and Technological Innovation.

The award of International Strategy of the Year recognizes outstanding success of an institution in building institutional partnerships, overseas operations and a strategic approach to international staff and student recruitment. This year eight universities are shortlisted for the category, and half of them are from Chinese mainland.

The shortlisting affirms ZJU's dedication to internationalization of education, research and engagement. In 2018 the University launched its international strategy "Global ZJU: CREATE to impact", which focuses on six areas: Culture, Research, Education, Administrative support, Talent and Engagement. Large financial resources are allocated to support bilateral exchanges, research collaborations, talent programs and international recruitment. Meanwhile, the University continues to make investment in developing its international campus, where collaborations with partner institutions bring about fusion of eastern and western pedagogies and in-depth intercultural encounters.

The winners will be announced during the THE Asia Universities Summit in Abu Dhabi from April 30 to May 2, 2019. Find out more about the shortlist here.
