2019-06-06

On June 1-2, the first forum of Chung Ying Young Scholars in the Yangtze Delta was held in Zhejiang University. This forum is an important event after the announcement of Alliance of Research Universities in Yangtze River Delta, which offers a great platform for researchers to brainstorm together and share their insights on education charities.

During the opening ceremony, President WU said, “Our friendship with Cyrus Tang Foundation is dated back to 20 years ago. Through years of collaborations, we have been working together to better serve the general public.”“In face of great changes of new era, China is undergoing a new round of reform and opening up, and the integrated development of the Delta has been put into one of national strategies. Young scholars in the region would play a key role in promoting social transformation and development,”added president WU.

XU Xiaochun, executive CEO of Cyrus Tang Foundation, reviewed the history of “Chung Ying Young Scholars” Program and encouraged the young talent that“a successful life is not about the accumulation of wealth or knowledge, but about whether it contributes to society to the best of its ability.” She hoped the light of charity ignited by Mr. Cyrus Chung Ying Tang will be passed down.

Young scholars discussed about innovative design of charity projects and showcased some current projects.
