On August 1, WU Qingfeng, an incoming freshman from the Zhejiang University College of Education, ranked 5th in the Women’s 50m Freestyle Final at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In the Women’s 4×100m Freestyle Relay on July 25, China came in 7th, setting an Asian record of 3 minutes 34.76 seconds. The 18-year-old Wu was also one of the quartet in the relay. This is the first time that Wu has competed at the Olympic Games. “There were surprises as well as regrets at the Olympics,” said Wu, adding that she’ll continue to fight for her dream. Wu will prepare for the National Games soon after returning to China. We look forward to more brilliant achievements on her competitive swimming journey.
