First Annual Photography Exhibition by Student Photography Association

Organized by the Student PhotographyAssociation, the first annual photography exhibition themed “The Moss” is held from May 6 to 20 at Crescent Building in Zhejiang University.

Hundreds of photographs in diverse styles are displayed in the gallery. Even in the rush hours of hustling and bustling, many students and teachers still slowed their steps to appreciate them. “Worksondisplaywere picked after rounds of selections, we want to present some typical pictures able to express our reflections on this year,” told WU Yuetong, one of the planners of the association.

Asked the connotation of the theme, WU shared the understanding. “The theme of this exhibition is The Moss, which we believe is tender but tenacious, just like us, immature in skill but passionate in attitude.”

“It brings me a striking feelingof beauty,” said TAN Huilin, a junior student majoring in journalism. “At ZJU, students can enjoy ample space to express themselves and sketch out their individuality, and this exhibition fully reflects that.”

ZHENG Pengsen, a third-year student, expressed his appreciation for “Sunset &Silence” by ZHANG Qianyue. “This work brings me a melancholy feeling, reminding me of the famous Chinese poet OUYANG Xiu.”

So far, this exhibition has got much attention and praises. “Photographycan pick up wonderful moments and hopefully everyone can get energy from it,” said WU Yuetong.
