Bloom Your Way to Happiness: Two Stories of How Flowers Boosted My Mood

2023-06-13

In our campus, we can always admire natural scenery anytime and anywhere, from cherry blossoms swaying in the breeze to plum blossoms stretching out petals in cold weather. Amidst the hustle and bustle of college life, there’s something magical about taking a moment to pause at the sight of flowers. Have you ever had similar experiences? ^^ I would like to share some happy moments related to flowers that I experienced this spring!

White roses “growing” on the wooden table

I brought a bouquet of white roses and returned to the dormitory where there was only me and one roommate. It was when I noticed the two empty vases on my roommates’ desks that an inspiration suddenly came to me. My roommate and I trimmed the flowers one by one and arranged them in suitable positions on every table. Finally, four roses were displayed on four tables in different postures.

“There is one thing in common on everyone’s desk!” two in the dormitory hid the secret.

“Wow! That’s so sweeeeet!” One girl shouted when she found out about the white rose after returning to our dormitory.

Coming across a large cluster of cherry blossoms swaying in the light

Light, shadow, flowers, and wind. Imagine that these elements blend together to form a vivid and poetic landscape before you; will you be attracted or captivated?

On a sunny afternoon, the sun casted golden glow on the floor of my dormitory, bringing a cozy atmosphere. I walked onto the balcony and hung the clothes slowly as usual. In a glimpse, I saw large branches of cherry blossoms stretching out in the light. For an instant, it was like entering a dream from daily life –warm light, beautiful flower petals, and occasionally small birds jumping between the branches. I ran back the room and took my camera. What I saw was just in the picture. Does the scenery give you a sense of peace?

So next time you’re feeling overwhelmed by college life, take a moment to stop and smell the flowers. You might be surprised at how much it helps.
