On March 7, 2024, a day before the release of the film I Miss You, the students of Zhejiang University became its first audience. The promotional event not only introduced the movie to our students but also fostered a deeper connection between artists and the audience.

The film I Miss You is an exploration of love, loss, and the human spirit. It features a compelling narrative of BAI Xiaoyu and WANG Jinjin, who first met accidentally during the college entrance examination but never had a chance to know each other since then. Four years later, they unexpectedly reunited and fell in love. However, the trivialities of reality brought difficulties to this young couple. While the girl WANG continued to succeed in her career, the boy BAI did not catch up. Will the two, who have once lost each other, drift apart again?

Following the film, there was a heartwarming and insightful Q&A session with the lead actress, ZHANG Jingyi, and the screenwriter, ZHENG Zhi. The audience was enthusiastic about this precious opportunity to engage with the creators.

One of the highlights of the event was a touching moment between the actress ZHANG Jingyi and a dedicated fan who had followed her for four years. The fan, deeply moved by ZHANG’s work, shared how ZHANG’s performances had inspired her throughout high school. ZHANG invited the fan on stage for a warm embrace, symbolizing the mutual respect and affection between them.

Other audience members also expressed their thoughts and appreciation for the film. A particular standout was a reader of Zheng Zhi's work. She resonated with the protagonist's views on love and life. In addition, she praised the film's timely release on International Women's Day as a fitting tribute to the strength and resilience of women, as embodied by Wang's character.

The event at Zhejiang University was a resounding success, not only because it provided a platform for the film's promotion but also because it fostered dialogue between the creators and the audience.

As we reflect on the impact of “I Miss You,” it's clear that the film has struck a chord with viewers. Its message of self-empowerment and the importance of personal agency in love and life is universal, resonating particularly strongly in the context of International Women's Day.
