In this edition of Dialogue@ZJU, we’re thrilled to present an exclusive interview with WANG Ningjing, an alumna who returned to celebrate the University's 127th anniversary in May. Wang, who graduated in 2018 with dual degrees in Ecology and English Language and Literature, also holds a master’s degree in Environmental Health Sciences from Yale University. Beyond academia, she practices martial arts and loves rock music, having been a member of Zhejiang University's martial arts team and the lead singer of a campus metal band.
However, her true passion lies in wildlife and nature photography. After graduating from Yale, she pursued further studies in nature documentary filmmaking in Bristol, UK, known as the world's center for nature documentaries. Wang became the first student from the Chinese mainland to be admitted to the wildlife filmmaking program jointly taught by the University of the West of England and the BBC Studios Natural History Unit.
Last summer, she filmed her debut documentary, "Immaculate", about the endangered Chinese Immaculate Treefrog, which was selected for the 47th International Wildlife Film Festival. Join us as Wang shares insights from her multifaceted career and her impact on environmental conservation.
