New Year Gala in ZJU

In the blink of an eye, 2024 has come to an end. This year, I had the opportunity to participate in the New Year Gala hosted by the International Education College. At the event, I served as the leader of the etiquette team, overseeing various responsibilities. My role included selecting etiquette representatives, preparing event props, coordinating logistical arrangements, and providing etiquette training for the team.

In addition to this role, I also performed at the gala. I played Farewell Letter with the Chinese orchestra and took part in the integrated performance The Voice of China by ISAG. Rehearsals began a month before the event, with nearly daily practice during our spare time. One of the biggest challenges I faced was finding suitable musical scores to ensure a flawless performance.

Throughout the preparation process, we faced numerous unexpected challenges. Sudden personnel changes disrupted our rehearsal plans, and when a key team member had to leave due to a family emergency, I acted quickly to find a replacement and adjust the schedule. Through effective communication and decisive action, we kept the preparations on track.

Training the etiquette representatives was a mutually enriching experience. While I guided them on postures and manners, I also gained valuable insights into graceful movements and the intricacies of award-giving ceremonies, broadening my perspective.

As rehearsals progressed, we bonded with new team members, and through overcoming challenges together, our team spirit grew stronger. This newfound camaraderie became one of the most rewarding aspects of the experience.

The day before the gala, we held a full-day rehearsal, and on the event day, we remained on standby from morning until night. As the Gathering at Zhejiang University from All Over the World event came to a close, the most significant activity of the year concluded, marking the perfect transition as we prepared to welcome the New Year.

Looking back on 2024, I am deeply aware of the remarkable personal growth I have experienced. This year has been a treasure trove of learning, equipping me with valuable skills and offering countless first-time experiences that have left an indelible mark on my journey. As I step into 2025, I look forward to embracing even more meaningful experiences and creating new stories that shape my path.
