New Facilities, New Looks, New Journeys

Could there be more sockets at classroom seats? When will a coffee shop open in the teaching building? When will my dormitory be renovated?

The campus is a shared home for all of us — a place where we study, work, and live our daily lives. Since the start of the summer vacation, multiple university departments have joined forces to carry out a wide range of facility renovations and upgrades, focusing on key student needs such as accommodation, dining, transportation, and platform resources. These efforts are aimed at supporting students' growth and development.

Many areas of the campus have already been renewed. Today, let’s take a look together at the new improvements to the hardware facilities on Zijingang Campus!

1.The Grand Opening of school canteen

On the south side of the East Area of Zijingang Campus, a modern building with clean, flowing lines has risen. Located next to the Life Sciences Institute of Zhejiang University, this building integrates three functions — scientific research, conferences, and dining — providing facilities that support the interdisciplinary collaboration of related fields.

2. A new branch of Mysweet

Beyond the hustle and bustle of academic life, desserts offer a little secret to enhancing our sense of well-being. Mysweet has opened its doors in the corridor of the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology building. Here, you’ll find a delightful variety of treats, including toasts, mousses, and mille-feuille cakes. Paired with a steaming cup of coffee, these delicious desserts — combined with a thoughtful, attentive attitude toward life — embody Zhejiang University's spirit of Seeking Truth, Pursuing Innovation in everyday living.

3. Transformation of Campus Roadways

The university has undertaken a renovation project to improve the peripheral electric vehicle parking areas in several locations. Through careful planning and redesign of the parking layout, the parking spaces have been effectively optimized, and road conditions have been significantly improved. Issues such as vehicles crowding and blocking the roads have been greatly reduced. As a result, campus traffic has become more orderly, enhancing both the overall quality of campus life and traffic safety.

4. Renewal of Student Dormitories

The General Affairs Office has made comprehensive improvements to 530 student dormitories and carried out upgrades and renovations on several dormitory buildings. In addition, special upgrading and maintenance work has been completed on 1,392 dormitory rooms. With a student-centered approach, the dormitory renovation project is still ongoing.

5. Advancement in Educational Platform

To streamline the learning process, the Undergraduate School has launched a new undergraduate teaching management information service platform and classroom resource management platform. These systems integrate undergraduate and postgraduate courses following the Three-in-One model: a unified schedule for teacher course arrangements, a single system for student course selection, and a consolidated platform for teaching resource allocation. The intelligent online and offline teaching platform has also been further refined. Additionally, a Q&A assistant called Zhe Xiaoben now offers 24-hour online support, providing intelligent educational administration services that comprehensively meet the needs of both teachers and students.
