A day at Yinquan Gym: strength, sweat, and smiles

This morning, I decided to kick off my weekend with something energetic—a full workout session at Yinquan Gym on ZJU’s campus. As someone who values both mental and physical growth, I’ve been meaning to explore more of what our university’s sports facilities have to offer—and Yinquan did not disappoint.

From the moment I stepped in, the spacious, well-equipped gym buzzed with positive energy. I started in the cardio zone, hopping onto a treadmill facing large windows that overlooked the green campus. With every stride, I felt not only my muscles warming up but also my mood lifting.

Next, I moved to the strength training area. Although some machines looked intimidating at first, it wasn’t long before a friendly senior noticed my hesitation. “Let me show you how to adjust the seat,” he said with a smile, demonstrating the proper form for the chest press. It was a small gesture, but it made all the difference.

Later, I headed to the group exercise room for stretching. Soft mats, mirrored walls, and a calm atmosphere made it the perfect place to cool down and reflect. There, I met a postgraduate student who shared some useful dynamic stretches to prevent injury. We chatted briefly about balancing academics and fitness—a conversation that reminded me once again how supportive the ZJU community is.

What stood out to me today wasn’t just the modern equipment or the clean environment—it was the people. Everywhere I turned, someone was offering a tip, sharing an experience, or simply giving an encouraging nod. It’s this spirit of mutual growth that makes campus life at ZJU so special.
