Exploring the world through exchange - my semester at the University of Hong Kong

At Zhejiang University, I joined an exchange program with the University of Hong Kong (HKU) through the university’s international cooperation platform. The process was clear and well-organized — students can easily explore exchange opportunities, review the requirements, and apply online. The HKU program mainly required meeting the English proficiency standard, and since both universities waived tuition fees, it offered a highly accessible opportunity for students to broaden their global vision.

Zhejiang University truly encourages us to explore the world and broaden our horizons. At HKU, I met classmates from Europe, Asia, and North America, and we shared perspectives both in and outside the classroom. Beyond academics, I immersed myself in Hong Kong’s dynamic rhythm, its fascinating blend of cultures, and, of course, its incredible local food.

This exchange experience was far more than just studying in a new environment — it reshaped the way I see the world. Living in a different city, adapting to a new culture, and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds made me more open-minded, confident, and inspired to keep discovering what the world has to offer.
