A short revive trip into the green

During the long National Day holiday, I took some time to immerse myself in nature and recharge after tackling a pile of assignments. After a quick search, I decided to visit the Yunqi Bamboo Trail near West Lake.

I woke up at 9 a.m., packed my things, and hopped on a bus to the trail. The ride took about an hour, and as we got closer, the scenery left me breathless. Endless tea bushes stretched into the distance, dotted with tea pickers moving gracefully among the rows, collecting leaves. The fresh, verdant landscape instantly lifted my spirits.

I arrived at the entrance around 10:30 a.m., snapped a few photos, and stepped inside without hesitation. I slowly followed a narrow path winding through the bamboo forest. With each deep breath, I felt completely recharged. The forest was alive with shades of green, from slender bamboo stalks to towering trees. One ancient giant tree stood out—it had been growing there for a thousand years. Its trunk was so massive that several people together couldn’t wrap their arms around it.

A wooden walkway stretched ahead, and I stepped onto it. It felt a bit like jungle trekking—but with a serene bamboo forest twist. After completing the walkway, I came across a swinging bridge that looked both thrilling and delicate. I stepped on carefully, gripping my phone tightly as I made my way across. Continuing my stroll through the lush greenery, I took my time, fully soaking in the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

Soon, I reached a spot where one of the scenes from the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon had been filmed. Many people were already there, lining up to take photos. I snapped a quick picture myself before heading toward the exit, as I needed to return to campus for a project.

Spending a day alone in nature was a perfect way to recharge and escape the hustle and bustle of school life. I loved the serene atmosphere—the fresh air, the lush greenery, and the satisfying views. Learning to enjoy your own company is an important lesson as you grow, and this trip reminded me of that. I would highly recommend the Yunqi Bamboo Trail to anyone in Hangzhou looking for a refreshing walk surrounded by nature.
