My midterm week has come to an end!

I haven’t updated my lifeblog lately because I’ve been swamped with midterm week. I had exams in two courses—Strategic Management and Corporate Governance and Internal Control—which took up most of my time. Even so, I still managed to notice some beautiful moments. Now, let’s take a look at them together!

The biggest improvement I’ve made this semester is learning how to cook. In our school kitchen, I teamed up with a few good friends to figure out how to stew spareribs. After several hours of effort, we managed to prepare a variety of delicious dishes. I even succeeded in making double-skin milk, one of my favorite Cantonese desserts.

In my view, the most important part of cooking is courage—courage not to fear oil splashes and not to shy away from the trouble. Once you overcome these hurdles, cooking becomes as enjoyable and simple as a craft. I’ve completely fallen in love with it! Cooking makes me feel more grounded and aware of my own existence; it’s as if, after learning how to cook, there are no difficulties in the world I cannot overcome.

Secondly, I also spent some weekends hanging out with my friends. On November 1st, we went to a beer festival. Each stall offered different types of beer—I tried a few, though unfortunately, I can’t handle much alcohol. Afterwards, we visited a vintage store. Many beautiful, retro-style clothes were displayed at the entrance, and both my friend and I ended up buying quite a few pieces.

Even in the midst of a busy schedule, we shouldn’t overlook our passion for life. I hope that everyone can grow a little each day during their university years and continue becoming a better version of themselves!
