My nail day surprise: a furry little friend

2026-03-17

Saturday afternoon, I wandered into Glow Nails, ready for a relaxing manicure. As I settled into the chair, a tiny paw suddenly tapped my ankle—startled, I looked down to find a fluffy white Pomeranian staring up at me, her tail wagging like a tiny metronome. “That’s Momo,” the nail technician laughed. “She’s our shop mascot—she loves making new friends!”

Momo wasted no time climbing onto my lap, curling up like a fuzzy cloud. While the technician painted my nails a soft pink, Momo nuzzled my hand, her warm breath tickling my skin. Every time the nail dryer hummed, she perked up her ears, then snuggled closer, as if protecting me from the noise. A few other clients giggled, taking photos of her nestled against my legs.

Halfway through, Momo spotted a rubber band on the floor and bounded off, chasing it around the shop. She skidded to a stop at my feet, dropping the band at my toes like a gift. I laughed, picked it up, and tossed it gently—she darted after it, her tiny legs moving a mile a minute. When my manicure was done, I held out my hands for Momo to inspect; she sniffed them, then licked my fingertip, as if giving her approval.

As I left, Momo followed me to the door, whining softly. I knelt down to pet her one last time, and she licked my cheek. That manicure wasn’t just about pretty nails—it was about the unexpected joy of meeting a furry friend. Momo turned a simple self-care afternoon into something magical, and I already can’t wait to go back—this time with a bag of treats for my new little buddy.
