Reading the world: Zhejiang University Global Learning Fair

2026-03-19

An international perspective has always been one of the core qualities cultivated in Zhejiang University students, and the university actively provides platforms for them to gain a deeper understanding of both domestic and overseas institutions. On November 14, the Yangtze River Delta Global Learning Fair was held at Yaokun Building at Zhejiang University, attracting a large number of students eager to learn, explore, and broaden their horizons.

At the fair, more than 20 universities and institutions from Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and other countries and regions sent representatives to engage with students. The Office of Global Engagement not only organized centralized presentations introducing programs, curricula, and admission requirements, but also set up individual consultation booths, allowing students to speak one-on-one with representatives and have their specific questions addressed. This structure ensured that students could gain both broad overviews and detailed, personalized guidance.

I made full use of this opportunity to connect with professors from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, learning about their educational philosophy and the structure of their master’s programs, which helped me better plan the next steps of my academic journey. At the same time, I took the initiative to assist friends from the School of Computer Science who were unable to attend due to coursework, inquiring on their behalf about master’s programs at institutions such as Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and the University of British Columbia in Canada, and gathering detailed information about application processes and program requirements.

The world is like a book without words, waiting to be read through courage, curiosity, and action. As graduation approaches, I hope to carry with me the courage and strength instilled by Zhejiang University, along with the spirit of truth-seeking and innovation that defines ZJU students. I aspire to embark on a new journey, enrich my life through diverse experiences, and encounter moments of genuine inspiration. Moreover, I aim to promote international exchange and cooperation, helping the world better understand contemporary China and contributing to the building of a brighter, shared future.
