On June 11, a delegation from the University of Macau (UM), led by UM Rector SONG Yonghua, visited Zhejiang University and signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement in the field of life sciences. Present at the agreement-signing ceremony was ZOU Xiaodong, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Zhejiang University.
ZOU Xiaodong extended his cordial welcome to the UM delegation and introduced the current mission and future development of ZJU. He expressed his hope that the two universities will promote partnership in scientific research, disciplinary construction and talent cultivation in a more precise and focused manner.
SONG Yonghua hoped that UM will cement ties with ZJU, particularly with the College of Life Sciences, the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the School of Medicine and Life Sciences Institute in high-ranking subjects and fields, thereby making joint contributions to China’s development and talent cultivation.
According to the agreement, the two universities will prioritize the establishment of a collaborative center for innovation in medicine, launch joint programs for undergraduates and postgraduates and develop a faculty exchange program.
