2018-06-14

The International Workshop on Ocean Optical Remote Sensing (OORS) 2018 was held on Yuquan Campus on June 8-9, 2018. More than 80 scholars attended the workshop and exchanged ideas on new theories and technologies in ocean optical remote sensing.

The workshop covered six sessions: Ocean Color Remote Sensing, Coastal Water Observation, Lidar Remote Sensing, Comprehensive Remote Sensing, Atmospheric Remote Sensing and Optical Properties of Seawater.

"We believe that OORS 2018 provides opportunities for international cooperation and exchanges between scientists from different countries.Academic and cultural exchanges will help people around the world obtain knowledge about the development of technology," says Professor PAN Delu from Second Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration, who is chair of OORS 2018 along with Professor BAI Jian from ZJU.

"OORS 2018 is a great chance for experts both at home and abroad to communicate with each other and share useful information in this rapidly-developing research field, ocean color remote sensing and oceanic lidar remote sensing, for instance," says Professor LIU Dong, co-chair of OORS 2018.

The workshop is co-sponsored by College of Optical Science and Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Modern Optical Instrumentation and Joint International Research Laboratory of Photonics of ZJU and the Second Institute of Oceanography of State Oceanic Administration.
