Running APP helps students break a sweat

2018-09-28

It is 9 o'clock in the evening. A large crowd of students are running and jogging on the track on Zijingang Campus. Many of them take a selfie after running and upload it to a running APP developed by the University, which is required to track the activity. Records on the APP will later contribute to the physical education (PE) credit.

It is part of the PE reform recently launched by the University. Through the effort, the University hopes to motivate its students and encourage them to develop a habit of exercising. Additionally, one regular teaching session on weekday afternoon is particularly dedicated to sports related activities, which is another big move of the reform to ensure extra time for fitness.

"To educate and inspire people to lead a healthy, balanced life," said WU Yehai, director of ZJU's Sports and Arts Department, "that's our goal."
