Renowned Chinese scientist WU Xifeng joins ZJU

ZJU is pleased to announce the addition of Professor WU Xifeng at its School of Public Health. She will serve as the Dean for School of Public Health, Vice President for the Second Affiliated Hospital and the Director for National Institute of Health Big Data, Zhejiang University.

“We are pleased to welcome Professor WU to the University,” said ZJU Vice President ZHANG Hongjian in the welcome ceremony. “Prof. WU brings not only educational expertise but also real-world experience that our students will benefit from. This complement our current faculty well in providing a first-class education and research to the School.”

Prof. WU studied for her master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases at the former Zhejiang Medical University between 1984 and 1987. “I feel particularly delighted and excited to return to my alma mater. I, together with other school leaders, will do our very best to elevate the School of Public Health to a world-class level by making the most of faculty and students, promoting domestic and overseas cooperation in various dimensions and supporting cutting-edge research,” said WU Xifeng.

Prof. WU is a professor in Epidemiology. Her research focuses on molecular cancer epidemiology, health and medical big data, biomarkers, precision health and risk prediction artificial intelligence. Prior to this appointment, she was Executive Sponsor in Institutional Patient History Database (USA) , Chair in the Department of Epidemiology, MD Anderson and Director for Center for Translational and Public Health Genomics (USA).
