ZJU undergrads win Silver Award in 47th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva

Congratulations to HOU Yaochun, WANG Yuxuan and LIU Qin, all of them juniors majoring in Process Control in the College of Energy Engineering, for their exceptional performance in the 47th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva. The team, mentored by Dr. CHU Ning, clinched a silver medal.It is one of the few award-winning undergraduate teams from China.

The team developed a “Doctor Wukong” platform—a smart operation and maintenance platform for the heating and ventilating system in rail transit based on deep learning and thermal imaging. 

In addition, the team visited the Laboratory of Vibration and Acoustics at the University of Leon and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), one of Europe’s most famous science and technology institutions.

The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is the most important inventions exhibition in the world, with 1,000 new inventions and products, 700 exhibitors from 40 countries, 57,000 visitors from all 5 continents, 650 journalists, and benefits from the most extensive support and privileges that can be granted to an exhibition.
