ZJU mathematics delegation on Paris trip

On May 6 and 7, Dean Prof. BAO Gang led a School of Mathematical Sciences delegation on a trip to Paris, which is a part of a series of engagements that aim to further strengthen ties between ZJU and French universities. The delegation also includes Prof. SHENG Weimin, Prof. ZHANG Ting and Prof. XU Xiang.

The delegation visited four top institutions, namely École Polytechnique, Université Paris-Saclay, MINES ParisTech, and Sorbonne Université.

On the morning of May 6, the delegation had in-depth discussions on potential collaborations with professors from École Polytechnique and ENSTA ParisTech. The meeting was presided over by Ms. Gaëlle Le Goff, deputy director for Marketing and International Relations at École Polytechnique. The Vice Provost for Education, heads of CMLS and CMAP at École Polytechnique, Deputy Director for International Relations and Deputy Director of the Applied Math Department of ENSTA also attended the meeting.

The delegation later met with mathematics faculty at Université Paris-Saclay, MINES ParisTech and Sorbonne Université. Discussions centered upon the establishment of active cooperation in both research and education.

This is a follow-up trip of ZJU President WU Zhaohui’s visit to France last December.
