Prof. DONG Yanping joins the ZJU community as a Leading Scholar in Humanities

On July 4, Zhejiang University held a ceremony to welcome Prof. DONG Yanping to join the ZJU community as a Leading Scholar in Humanities.

WU Xiaocheng, deputy secretary of the CPC Zhejiang University Committee, extended his cordial welcome to Prof. DONG Yanping. He expressed his hope that Prof. DONG Yanping will play a leading role in her future work and lend generous support to talent cultivation and inter-disciplinary research at the University.

“Zhejiang University is a magnet for a galaxy of intelligent, passionate and assiduous scholars. I am looking forward to working together with them and will contribute all I can to every task,” said DONG Yanping.

DONG Yanping is a lead researcher in the field of psycholinguistics in China. Her major interests lie in bilingual competence and education, focusing in two areas of psycholinguistics: bilingual processing and acquisition, e.g., bilingual mental lexicon, language transfer, language and cognitive control, and psycholinguistic study of interpreting (with related topics in language teaching and learning). She has been a PI for several projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation and published many research articles in top journals.
