2019-11-04

“Excuse me, has the information session of Oxford started already?”several students rushed to the registration desk, panted, “yes, 3rd floor”, answered by the staff working in Office of Global Engagement.

To offer our students a wide range of overseas study opportunities, the 2nd ZJU Study Abroad Fair is held as scheduled on Oct. 31st. About 30 representatives of ZJU international partner institutions, including universities from European, American, and Asian countries joined the event at the Library on Zijingang Campus to share first-hand information with ZJU students. Apart from exhibitions outside the university library, each participating university took turns to give a 15-minute presentation about program details, application procedures etc.

“Like many of our students coming here today, I have been looking for a suitable overseas institution to carry on my graduate studies, in this process, I also have doubts in my mind, like ‘how can I find the institution where I can maximize my potential’, said WU Bojin, host of 2nd ZJU Study Abroad Fair, at the opening ceremony, and shared his ideas as a student who looks for future studies.

“We really appreciate your participation to help students explore study abroad options, provide materials and answer questions. Recent date indicates that more than 75% undergraduates in Zhejiang University had a certain period of time of international experiences, which made a real difference in their lives,” introduced Prof. LI Min, director of the Office of Global Engagement, in the welcome remark.

“Being a freshman, it really helps a lot for such a platform that I can have access to so much first-hand information regarding overseas studies. I may make future plans accordingly,”said ZHAO Zijing, student from School of International Studies. CHE Ziyuan shared his ideas from a participant to an organizer: “this is my second year in Zhejiang University. Last year I came for suggestions about applying for Berkeley, and during the past one year, I’ve been working on preparing for TOFEL and course-selection. This year, being a volunteer of program organization, I found it more worthwhile to join.”
