ZJU a world leader according to new Nature Index

Zhejiang University (ZJU) has been recognized by Nature Index as one of the leading universities globally for its output of research in the natural sciences. In 2020 ZJU has now risen to 23rd in the world.

The rankings, based on author affiliation with primary research articles from a group of prestigious science journals, place ZJU among the:

- Rising stars in Life Sciences for 2020 (1st globally)

- Rising stars in Earth and environmental sciences for 2020 (12nd globally)

- Rising stars in Physics for 2020 (17th globally)

- Rising stars in Chemistry for 2020 (53rd globally)

ZJU employs more than 3,900 faculty members who are addressing society’s grand challenges through research excellence that spans all disciplines.  

The Chinese Academy of Sciences is ranked No 1 in the global institutional ranks. Other Chinese institutions on the top10 list include University of Science and Technology of China (No 8) and Peking University (No 10).
