As of 2015, Zhejiang University has set up special funds for schools, departments or institutes to offer courses to international postgraduate students as part of the International Summer School.

In 2015, it launched 4 programs, including the International Doctoral Summer School of China’s Innovation Circles and Academy by the School of Management, the International Summer School of Neuromorphic Computing by the College of Computer Science and Technology, ZJU-MCS International Bridging Program for Partner Universities by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Senior Seminar on Sino-US Law by Guanghua Law School. These programs attracted approximately 100 exceptional international students from many countries, such as Germany, Denmark and Korea.

The International Summer School is designed to promote inbound globalization by offering a rich collection of courses and lectures to unparalleled international students and attracting remarkable teaching resources, thereby creating an atmosphere of indigenous internationalization for ZJU postgraduates, broadening their horizons and facilitating academic exchanges.

The International Summer School exhibits different degrees of innovation in both form and content. In the program offered by the School of Management, three professors collaborated with each other to deliver a highly interactive lecture. In the program offered by the College of Computer Science and Technology, research teams from the Technical University of Munich and New Zealand shared with students their latest findings on robotics.

ZJU will hold the 2nd edition of the International Summer School and there will be five programs this year. It is hoped that apart from providing a platform for academic exchanges, these programs can elevate the international reputation of ZJU and tempt more high-performing international students into pursuing their studies at ZJU.
