The 1st National Maternal and Child Health Science & Technology Convention was held in Beijing on February 19. The Convention announced the selection of 99 projects as recipients of the 1st Maternal and Child Health Science & Technology Award. Children’s Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University clinched two 2nd prizes: Fundamental Clinical Research into Comprehensive Treatment of Critically-ill Neonates and Its Application by Prof. Du Lizhong and Establishment of Early Screening and Intervention System for Hereditary Metabolic Disorders of Neonates and Its Application by Prof. Zhao Zhengyan.
The Maternal and Child Health Science & Technology Award, jointly initiated by the Chinese Association of Maternal and Child Health and China’s Women Development Foundation, is intended to reward those who make remarkable contributions in promoting maternal and child health, thereby bringing into full play the initiative and creativity of medical staff. It covers various research domains, including maternal health, child health, family planning, prevention and treatment of congenital deformities, perinatal health, etc.
