Prof. James Bacchus Appointed as Pao Yue-Kong Chair Professor

On March 30, Prof. James Bacchus was appointed as Pao Yue-Kong Chair Professor of Zhejiang University. The installation ceremony was held in Severance Hall of Zhijiang Campus. Prof. HU Ming, associate dean of Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. ZHOU Jianghong, executive vice dean of Guanghua Law School, Prof. ZHAO Jun, vice dean of Guanghua Law School, as well as faculty and students from Law School attended the ceremony.

Prof. ZHOU Jianghong chaired the ceremony, and Prof. HU Min delivered a welcome speech on behalf of ZJU. In his speech Prof. HU hoped Prof. Bacchus would enjoy working in ZJU and promote the development of Guanghua Law School. Prof. Bacchus was then installed by Prof. HU with a ZJU badge, and HE Yunong, a student representative, presented a bouquet to him.

In the end, Prof. James Bacchus shared his views and ideas on legal education in China and said he looked forward to working with fellow professors and studying with students from Guanghua Law School.

The appointment of Prof. James Bacchus plays a significant role in the development of Guanghua Law School, since his outstanding academic achievements and abundant practical experience are beneficial for disciplinary improvement, echelon construction, scientific research, talent cultivation as well as the international exchanges and cooperation with other universities and schools.
