ITP celebrates two decades of student success

This October, we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of our Intense Training Program (ITP) for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Chu Kochen Honors College. 

Thinking back over two decades of progress, “ITP is a trailblazer in China，which establishes innovation-based entrepreneurial education model,”says WU Zhaohui, President of Zhejiang University and Dean of Chu Kochen Honors College. “The creation of the ITP was on-par with everything else ZJU does. We set the bar very high and aims to become more open and global.”  

We were the first training program for innovation and entrepreneurship in China, and since our launch, the program has focused on cultivate future entrepreneurs with global vision and Chinese wisdom. For 20 years, ITP has trained more than 1000 ZJU undergraduates, graduate students and alumni. Over 200 entrepreneurs emerged among them who established 128 start-up companies with a total market value of 100 Billion RMB.

In the forum for ITP 20th anniversary, WU Yan, Director of Department of Higher Education， Ministry of Education of China says，“It’s time to salute to all the teachers in ITP and I want to show special appreciation to Prof. WU Xiaobo, the founder of this program”. “ITP has led the innovation and entrepreneurship education in Chinese Higher Learning. Good practice of this Program can be further promoted.”

In addition, ITP innovation and entrepreneurship fund was launched in the forum. 20 ITP alumni introduced their projects and entrepreneurship experience on the stage. Many entrepreneurship mentors and ZJU alumni of listed companies shared their valuable experience with the participants.
