ZJU now No.6 in QS rankings of Asia's best universities

Zhejiang University is up seven slots, from #13 to #6, in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings for 2020.  

QS Asia assesses universities based on academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), faculty/student ratio (10%), international research network (10%), citations per paper (10%) and papers per faculty (5%), staff with a PhD (5%), proportion of international faculty (2.5%) and proportion of international students (2.5%), proportion of inbound exchange students (2.5%) and proportion of outbound exchange students (2.5%).

ZJU performed strong in academic, employer reputation and internationalization related metrics.

Another three Chinese research universities from Mainland – Tsinghua Univesity (No. 4), Peking University (No. 5), and Fudan Univesity (No.7)- also made the top 10 list. The top universities in Asia are #1 National University of Singapore, #2 Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and #3 The University of Hong Kong.   

According to a statement by QS Top Universities, “Mainland China dominates the rankings for number of universities,with 118 in total and four among the top-ten: a remarkable progress. Until 2015,only one university from Mainland China featured among Asia's top ten.
