Zhejiang University signs agreement on comprehensive strategic cooperation with Xihu District

On January 6, the People’s Government of Xihu District and Zhejiang University signed an agreement on comprehensive strategic cooperation. Meanwhile, Xitou Innocenter was inaugurated.

“‘Focusing on Zhejiang and serving Zhejiang’ constitutes a strategic foundation for Zhejiang University’s endeavor to build a world-class university. Zhejiang University has long given priority to Xihu District in terms of services. We have yielded fruitful achievements in scientific innovation, pooling of top-notch talents and improvement of social well-being. We have thus evolved into a community of shared interests and a community of shared future. We shall strengthen mutual trust, set a prime example in district-university partnership, expand cooperation domains and build an ecological area marked by the integration of science and teaching. Moreover, we shall make concerted efforts to tackle core technologies and create a brand-new situation for leapfrog development,” said WU Zhaohui, president of Zhejiang University.

“Not only does the signing of the agreement mark the deepening cooperation between us and open up a new chapter for cooperation and development, but it also signals the implementation of the ‘Three-famous’ Project (famous universities, famous colleges and famous institutes). Xihu District boasts of a geographically advantageous location, a complete set of innovation elements and a rich innovation atmosphere. We hope that through all-round strategic cooperation, a batch of educational cooperative programs and high-level institutes will be introduced and nurtured and the transfer system of scientific and technological achievements will be improved, thus promoting the leapfrog development of Zhejiang University and speeding up the high-quality development of Xihu District,” said GAO Guofei, secretary of the CPC Xihu District Committee.
