WU met with leaders from a variety of organizations and industries, participated in the annual meeting of the Global University Leadership Forum (GULF), a community comprising the presidents of 29 of the world's top universities. During the meeting, GULF presidents exchange on their experiences in nurturing a cohesive and sustainable world through their university communities.

“Today’s world is faced with pressing issues of sustainable development, which cannot be solved by institutions or individuals on their own. In the context of globalization, open innovation is a key driver for continued growth, and lies between the challenges of today and our dreams for tomorrow,”WU said. “Future innovative universities will also transform the models of knowledge production and technology innovation. By constructing borderless networks, future universities will bring together top-notch scholars to address the global challenges to better the lives of mankind.”

He added that Zhejiang University is committed to becoming a more outstanding innovation-driven university and universities should work actively to support the SDGs through both talent and innovation.
