2020-02-13

At this critical moment in combating the novel coronavirus pneumonia, Zhejiang University made some crucial decisions regarding learning and teaching in the Spring and Summer Quarters of the 2019-2020 academic year. Here are a list of things you need to know.

- All the courses in the Spring Quarter will start as scheduled on February 24. Before students get back on campus, teaching will be administered online. Regular classroom teaching will return to normal after students come back. However, the time for students to return to school is subject to further notice.

- The third round of course registration for undergraduates will be carried out as previously planned. In addition, a special course registration channel will be available in response to a wide spectrum of course registration problems induced by the prevention and control of the epidemic. With regard to course registration for postgraduates, the preliminary phase and the add/drop phase have been adjusted to 9:00 on Feb. 11—9:00 am on Feb. 15 and 8:00 on Feb. 24 to 11:00 on Mar. 6 respectively.

- Online teaching will be primarily carried out on the platform of “Learning@ZJU(学在浙大)” and “DingTalk for Zhejiang University” will be recommended as a live streaming app for online teaching.

- If the epidemic is eliminated prior to the final week in the Spring Quarter, finals will be administered as scheduled. Faculty should make full use of formative assessment in evaluation.

- There will be playbacks available for live-streamed lectures. Students will be able to access these recorded playbacks when they have stable internet connection or during the official start of the Spring Quarter.
