ZJU4H “Mobile Digital Hospital” ushers in an era of “zero distance” mobile health

Imagine that in the future, a “mobile hospital” bus complete with necessary medical equipment will make it to your neighborhood on time as long as you click the “reservation” on your mobile phone.

On January 23, the 5G “Mobile Digital Hospital” built by the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of the Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZJU4H) was officially launched. It is the first “mobile hospital” to provide medical services in the whole process in Zhejiang Province. Based on a mobile CT car and the 5G Internet technology, it offers a full spectrum of medical services and functions, including micro consultation rooms, CT / B ultrasound/ ECG / blood tests, remote consultation, mobile nursing and pharmaceutical guidance, online reservation, follow-up visits and drone logistics support.  

The ZJU4H Mobile Digital Hospital focuses on mobile screening of special diseases. It is marked by bookable, mobile and 24-hour services to satisfy the needs for screening of special diseases, customized home medical services, emergency rescue and group medical checkups.

At its dazzling debut, the ZJU4H Mobile Digital Hospital sent out a team of experts from the Respiratory Department, the General Surgery Department, the Urology Department, the Radiology Department and the Ultrasound Department to offer volunteer medical consultations on lung nodules, thyroids and prostates.

“The prevention and treatment of tumor should be administered as early as possible. If timely intervention can be made, irreversible outcomes and losses will be avoided. This is why we build the ZJU4H Mobile Digital Hospital. We will commit ourselves to bringing accessible medical services to people in central Zhejiang and strive to become a national pioneer in mobile medical services,” said WANG Kai, President of ZJU4H.
