ZJU hosts Summer Postgraduate Graduation 2023

On the morning of June 24, Zhejiang University held its Summer Postgraduate Graduation 2023 on Zijingang Campus. About 6,000 postgraduates will bid farewell to the past and embark on their new journey.

On behalf of the University, President DU Jiangfeng sent his cordial wishes to the graduates and delivered an address titled “Embracing the spirit of our time”. “Not only is graduation an ode to youth, but it is also a prelude to dream chasing. As you step into the world with great pride, you will unfold the tapestry of your lives amidst boundless horizons. I earnestly wish that each of you, in the years to come, shall unwaveringly embody the spirit of our time, never faltering in the face of opportunity, and together, carve the glory and brilliance of ZJUers,” said Du affectionately.

“In the era of endless competition, follow your heart, maintain unwavering composure while pursuing your ideals, and derive unparalleled happiness from innovation and creation. As we enter a new era, let us seek career paths aligned with our nation's grand vision and make substantial contributions towards building a more harmonious world,” he added.

In the era of boundless possibilities, assume the mantle of truth-seeking, embark on a transformative journey, confront challenges with confidence, and ascend to greater pinnacles guided by lofty aspirations,” DU urged the graduates.   

CHEN Wenxing, President of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, spoke on behalf of the outstanding alumni. Reflecting on his research journey, he shared three key words: truth, expertise, and proficiency. He urged students to bear in mind the university motto of “seeking truth and pursuing innovation” and drive progress across various industries. CHEN encouraged them to embrace challenges, explore uncharted paths, and reach new heights. “I hope that you will expand your horizons, acquire interdisciplinary understanding, and confidently navigate an ever-changing world,” he added. 

YAN Jingtao, a PhD graduate from the College of Optical Science and Engineering, spoke on behalf of the graduates. “At ZJU, I have learned to strive in failure and thrive in difficulty. As we look ahead, it is imperative for us to proactively embrace the mission of ZJUers, shouldering the responsibility for the advancement and betterment of our society,” said YAN.
