Officially open to the public on the occasion of the 124th anniversary of Zhejiang University, the Library has a collection of over 180,000 volumes of books from the Song Dynasty (AD 960-1279) to the Republic of China (AD 1912-1949), including more than 20,000 volumes of rare classics. Practically 100 types of rare books are exclusively accessioned here. The Library has a total of 175 rare books catalogued into the National Rare Ancient Book Directory, ranking second among all libraries in Chinese universities.
Opening hours:
- Ancient Books Reading Room: 8:30-12:00; 13:30-17:30 (Monday to Friday)
- Other Reading Rooms: 8:30-22:00 (Monday to Sunday)
