Speaker: ZHOU Shengxuan, Postgraduate student at Peking UniversityTencent meeting ID: 590885302Abstract:The asymptotic behavior of Bergman kernel on polarized Kaehler manifold has been studied by Tian, Ruan, Zelditch, Catlin and many others since 1990. The works related to Bergman kernel plays an important role in complex geometry. In this talk, I will discuss the uniform asymptotic estimates of Bergman kernels on various collections of polarized Kaehler manifolds.

Speaker: WANG Zhaojun, Professor, School of Mathematical Sciences, Nankai UniversityVenue: Tencent meeting ID: 615-465-700Abstract:Data arriving in “streams” from a large number of sources is ubiquitous, a portion of which usually incurs structural changes during the time-course of data acquisition. For example, in fMRI analysis, some brain regions become active associated with task-related stimuli or even in restingstates. Such a region corresponds to an activated data stream. We are aiming to measure the uncertainty of discovering data streams in activation via the tool of the false discovery rate (FDR). Borrowing ideas from recent developments of the FDR control methodologies, we propose a simple yet effective method to achieve this purpose meanwhile taking unknown asynchronous change patterns and spatial dependence into consideration. Its validity on controlling the FDR is justified by asymptotic analysis. Numerical experiments indicate that the proposed method is both accurate and powerful. It is also applied in a real fMRI data analysis. A R package SLIP is developed to implement the proposed method.

Speaker: Prof. SHEN Yi, Professor, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Zhejiang Sci-Tech UniversityTencent Meeting ID: 951 684 427 (passcode: 310027)Abstract:We consider sparse representations of signals from redundant dictionaries which are unions of several orthonormal bases. The spark introduced by Donoho and Elad plays an important role in sparse representations. However, numerical computations of sparks are generally combinatorial. For unions of several orthonormal bases, two lower bounds on the spark via the mutual coherence were established in previous work. We constructively prove that both of them are tight. Our main results give positive answers to Gribonval and Nielsen's open problem on sparse representations in unions of orthonormal bases. Constructive proofs rely on a family of mutual unbiased bases which first appears in quantum information theory. It is joint work with Prof. Song Li, Dr. Yuan Shen and Chenyun Yu.
