The BRIDGE 2021 is about to start! Apply NOW! Apply Deadline: Aug 23.About BRIDGE 2021:In 2020, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic made people think more about what on earth a “normal” world should be. In 2021, there are only nine years left until 2030, the deadline set by the United Nations to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). What actions should we take to build a bridge to a sustainable future? In response to this question, the BRIDGE (Better Responsibility Initiative - Design for Good Earth) Sustainable Design Action focuses on the SDGs. It brings together design talents from universities and companies around the world to address the SDGs using the design language, attempting to construct a bridge to a sustainable future through the lens of design. Concretely, the BRIDGE Action focuses on 5 SDGs. They are “Quality Education”, “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”, “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, and “Sustainable Consumption and Productions”, which will serve as the main design themes and subjects for discussion. The BRIDGE Action is hosted by Zhejiang University under the Sustainability Action Plan: A Global ZJU for Social Good (Z4G). In March 2021, Zhejiang University has launched Z4G in response to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, aspiring to make a distinctive and positive impact by strengthening its commitment to the SDGs.Learn more: https://design.zju.edu.cn/bridge/?fbclid=IwAR0XBAF2UtLiBgvkKWkzHBwdHDzUjCAHg3WMSTcgopVdtqi-q0kUwbmZtQc#/Expert team:Prof. Shiro AokiHe is or was Good Design Award Fellow, COO of Japan-China Exchange Conference in Japan Design Consultant Association (JDCA), COO of Society for Design and Art Fusing with Science and Technology (SDAFST), Honorary member of Japanese Soci- ety for the Science of Design (JSSD).Prof. Makoto WatanabeMakoto Watanabe is a professor at the Department of Design, Division of Creative Engineering Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Chiba University, Japan. The spread of COVID-19 has made the world full of challenges. Also, the pandemic is reshaping the way of education, research, learning and global engagement. With the ongoing pandemic, global health is on the spotlight more than ever. Especially, there is an urgent need for fresh thinking on how higher medical education should be better prepared for future medical challenges. As much as the virus distances people, communications and a shared commitment to human welfare brought us ever closer. The Forum is going to have an in-depth look at medical research, medical education and global healthcare, from viral and host genomics to vaccines R&D; from infectious disease prevention and control to population and health; from digital education to online international collaboration, as well as reflections and lessons learned in the COVID-19 age.Physicians, researchers, global health experts, policy makers, educators are welcomed to share ideas and exchange knowledge at the one-day hybrid event, to further explore what we can contribute to advance human health through innovative discovery, education and health care to address big challenges facing the human beings in the Post-Pandemic Era.As a serial event under the framework of Z4G Action Plan, the Forum is jointly hosted by Zhejiang University and APRU, exclusively organized by ZJU School of Medicine and the Second Affiliated Hospital of ZJU School of Medicine. Please join us and make contribution to the call for UN SDG 3 - Good Health and Well Being!PlatformPlease note this is a hybrid event. International participants will attend the Forum via Zoom.ProgramPlease see a tentative program here.RegistrationRegister here before 24:00 May 8 (GMT+8).
