On November 21, Wu Zhaohui, President of Zhejiang University, paid a visit to the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Netherlands.
At TU/e, Wu Zhaohui held an in-depth discussion about prospective cooperation with Frank Baaijens, TU/e’s Rector Magnificus and ir. Jan Mengelers, TU/e’s President of the Executive Board. They reached an agreement that they will enhance cooperation in energy, health and big data by taking into account their respective development strategy, focusing on shared fields, utilizing their intimate university-enterprise relationship and piggybacking off the “university-enterprise” partnership mode. The two universities also signed a partnership agreement on furthering a joint program for postgraduates and boosting cooperation with TU/e’s post-Master’s PDEng program. Collaboration in the post-Master’s program will become the driving force behind the development of Polytechnic Institute of Zhejiang University.
During his trip, Wu Zhaohui also attended a presentation delivered by STORM Eindhoven, which consists of 24 passionate students who voluntarily dedicate two years of their work to STORM in order to achieve our shared goal of creating the world’s first electric touring motorcycle.
Wu Zhaohui also visited High Tech Campus Eindhoven, where he explored the future development of “the Brain Bridge” together with Philips and TU/e, learnt about the flagship initiative of Philips with regard to cooperation with universities and analyzed cooperation modes and pathways in the future.
