Mr. Tang Lixin Appointed to Board of Trustees of Zhejiang University

In 2014, Mr. Tang Lixin, Chairman and President of the Shinesun Group, donated 15 million yuan to Zhejiang University Education Development Foundation for the establishment of Tang Lixin Education Development Foundation. He said that he would continue to create an “Oscar” for scholarship. In 2015, he paid a special visit to Beijing in support of the establishment of China-US Business School with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and Peking University. He said that he acted as a catalyst in this matter. In 2016, he got heavily involved in the construction of Zijin Start-up Town.

Today, Mr. Tang came to Zhejiang University again with his great dream of building the best university in China.

On the afternoon of December 13, Mr. Tang Lixin was appointed to the Board of Trustees of Zhejiang University. President Wu Zhaohui presented him with an appointment certificate and put on the badge of Zhejiang University for him.

Wu Zhaohui expressed his cordial gratitude for Mr. Tang’s generous support and said that Zhejiang University will repay his act of kindness with impressive educational achievements. He hoped that with the massive support of Mr. Tang, Zhejiang University will continue to cement close ties with various circles in an interconnected and win-win manner and mobilize more social resources and power to support its reform and development.

Tang Lixin said that Zhejiang University is one of the leading universities domestically and even globally. He hoped that with his determined efforts, promising youngsters will reflect on and harbor a brilliant future in a relatively carefree environment. “It is at college that our approach to life is shaped. We need to look somewhere else for enlightenment and take the initiative in educating ourselves,” said Tang.
