Zhejiang University Commends Outstanding Students

On December 31, 2016, Zhejiang University awarded roughly 25,700 outstanding students and over 1,200 excellent collectives in recognition of their brilliant achievements in the 2015-2016 academic year. Party Secretary Jin Deshui and President Wu Zhaohui presented awards to “Top 10 College Students” and winners of the “Chu Kochen Scholarship” respectively.

Jin Deshui took great pride in what students achieved. He expressed his sincere hope that students should be aspiring, liberal-minded, assiduous and dedicated to the dream of becoming versatile talents. He also hoped that they can strive for lofty ideals, expand their knowledge, foster a sense of responsibility, lead a life of virtue, and cultivate strength of character.

Wu Zhaohui quoted President Chu Kochen’s witty words in his speech―“Youngsters should have a remarkable breadth of vision, possess a bold and daring spirit, and have the interests of the state and society at heart.” He expected students to seize precious opportunities and take on new challenges spontaneously, make every endeavor to possess ideals, compassion and humor and take prompt action, and ultimately attain their life values in their unswerving contributions to the revival of the nation.
